the OG teen mom The family can’t get enough of Leah Messer’s daughters’ support when it comes to her love life! In PopCulture.com’s exclusive preview of Tuesday’s all-new Teen Mom: Girls’ Night OutMaci Bookout, Amber Portwood, Cheyenne Floyd, Catelynn Lowell and Their Loved Ones Watch teen mom 2 back as Messer has a heart to heart with his daughters Aleeah Grace, 12, Aliannah Hope, 12 and Adalynn Faith, 9.
The subject of love and dating comes first when Messer teases the girls about missing their friends at school amid the pandemic. “How about you, Grace? Do you miss that crush?” reality personality teases her preteen girl. Both Portwood and Bookout are shocked that the girls are old enough to have crushes, but Floyd knows all about young love.
“Ryder has a crush on his cousin Elijah from Atlanta,” Floyd says of his 4-year-old daughter, “and I have to explain to Ryder that where we’re from, we just don’t do that.” When Floyd’s mother, Margaret, says she thinks Ryder will be one to “fall hard” in the future because she’s “in love with love,” The challenge alum admits she’s “afraid” of upcoming school crushes. “But I feel like I look young enough that if somebody does something to Ryder, I can probably put on the school uniform, walk up to school, and I’ll fight a kid” , she jokes.
Back at Messer’s house, the girls insist their mom is going on a date soon to “find someone nice,” which makes Lowell and her husband, Tyler Baltierra laugh. Portwood reminds Kristina Shirley, “I remember a year ago when [13-year-old daughter] Leah was like ‘Can you just find a really nice guy and get married?’ And I’m like…I said, ‘Honey, that’s not going to solve all my problems.'”
When it comes to what kind of guys the Messer girls want for her, the ability to take out the trash turns out to be a number one priority. “That’s all we’re good at, taking out the trash,” Baltierra jokes, as Portwood shrugs, “That’s good quality, taking out the trash.” Messer assures her daughters that she only wants to bring someone into her life and her family who is a “positive role model”, and she doesn’t mind being just her and her daughters.
“You have your cats,” Addie assures him, making everyone laugh. OG teen mom stars look back. “That old cat lady,” Bookout laughs, Portwood adding, “Cats make you feel better.” Floyd notes: “I hope the graphic after her [segment] it’s like her and some cats – you know how they always do a little thing?”
On a more serious note, Bookout and her husband, Taylor McKinney, understand how difficult it must be to date single moms with older kids who have “serious questions.” Floyd adds, “But I get what she’s saying, you don’t want to bring just anybody around your kids. And even if she starts dating, it’s not like they’re going to meet that person. But it’s crazy that his girls are like, ‘We want you to go out on a date and everything.'” Teen Mom: Girls’ Night Out airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET, right after Teen mom: family reunion at 8 p.m. ET, on MTV.
