Results have been mixed for Bochum in the first part of 2022. A stunning 4-2 victory over record-breaking champions Bayern Munich was the highlight, although it was only one of the three wins in nine league games recorded by the promoted side since the turn of the year. Thomas Reis’ side have drawn three and as many defeats in that spell, recently slipping a 1-0 lead in the loss to Eintracht Frankfurt. A second straight season of Bundesliga football is firmly in sight, however, with the Ruhr district club sitting in relative comfort in 11th place, nine points clear of the relegation play-off spot, with eight rounds of fixtures. remaining. Defenders Cristian Gamboa and Maxim Leitsch are set to return to the side, but long-range goalscorer Milos Pantovic is unavailable. Striker Christopher Antwi-Adjei, meanwhile, could fend off Takuma Asano.

Gladbach are on the hour-long road trip to Bochum on the back of club captain Lars Stindl’s return to the first team. The 33-year-old returned from injury as a second-half substitute in the Foals’ comfortable 2-0 win at home to Hertha Berlin, and is set to feature at some point on Matchday 27. Defender Nico Elvedi joins top scorer Jonas Hofmann on the sidelines, but Ramy Bensebaini is available again for head coach Adi Hütter after a one-game suspension. The Algerian is expected to overthrow Luca Netz on the left side, with Stefan Lainer vying for the place of United States international Joe Scally on the opposite flank. Marvin Friedrich is set to take on the Elvedi role alongside Jordan Beyer and Ginter, who joined in-form Alassane Plea on the scoresheet against Hertha. Borussia start the weekend 13th, two points behind their hosts.

Look: Highlights of Gladbach’s 2-0 win over Hertha

Match statistics

  • Sebastian Polter is set to make his 90th Bundesliga appearance. He has scored 17 top-flight goals, eight of them this season.

  • VfL are unbeaten in their last nine Bundesliga home games against Gladbach, dating back to a 2-0 loss on March 25, 1995.
  • Ginter is set to make his 175th competitive appearance as a Gladbach player. The Germany international will end a five-year spell at the club this summer.
  • Plea has been directly involved in seven goals (his own, four assists) over the past six matchdays. Only Christopher Nkunku of RB Leipzig bet (eight).

Blog: Wheat and War (02/27/22) https://rencontre-latina.com/blog-wheat-and-war-02-27-22/ Sun, 27 Feb 2022 19:30:00 +0000 https://rencontre-latina.com/blog-wheat-and-war-02-27-22/

This week brought a rarely seen volatility in commodity prices, with wheat supply and demand front and center. The mid-week Russian invasion of Ukraine, the relentless shelling that accompanied it, and the widening of the assault’s reach all contributed. The first territory invaded by Russia includes some of the most productive and mineral-rich wheat soils on the planet, even better than Russia’s. Scenes of thousands of refugees fleeing to Poland or Hungary have raised fears that the global supply could be severely reduced. Ukraine and Russia together supply more than 60% of world wheat exports.

Wheat is the oldest and cheapest source of human food, with some evidence dating back to its production 20,000 or 30,000 years ago. Political upheavals and wars have been triggered throughout history by shortages of wheat, for example, the flour wars in France in the 1770s, the French Revolution, the flour riots in the United States in the 1800s, the Bread Riots in Egypt and the Arab Spring. Agricultural supply threats for grain and cotton have even affected our own American Civil War.

Most of the strong rise in grains faded or reversed entirely on Friday afternoon. The week’s massive volatility in beans, for example, saw the price explode to over $17.65 a bushel but fell almost two dollars by the end of the week. On Friday afternoon, May wheat was $8.60, May beans $1,585, May corn $6.58.

Crude blows over $100, then falls out of bed

Wars, such as Desert Storm, were also fought over oil supplies, and the United States was often involved. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine could affect our energy prices here. Sanctions against Russia, including Germany’s halt to approval of the Nord Stream gas pipeline, are a huge factor in energy supplies to much of Europe.

Crude oil rose to $100.54 a barrel on Thursday, but crashed to $90.00 just before Friday’s close. Natural Gas, Gasoline, Diesel, Gold, Silver all saw spikes higher on Thursday and steep declines on Friday. April crude oil traded at $91.15 a barrel near Friday’s close while natural gas for May delivery fetched $4.48 per million BTU and April gasoline 2.87 $ per gallon. April gold was trading around $1,890 an ounce, while May silver was trading at $24.10.

Blog: BBB Tips: Online Dating Sites (2/16/22) https://rencontre-latina.com/blog-bbb-tips-online-dating-sites-2-16-22/ Wed, 16 Feb 2022 15:08:19 +0000 https://rencontre-latina.com/blog-bbb-tips-online-dating-sites-2-16-22/

Success stories in advertisements for online dating services can make true love seem just a click away. Meeting people online may seem easy and safe, but consumers need to be on their toes to avoid being scammed, hurt, or worse.

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) receives thousands of complaints about dating services each year. Many relate to billing and collection issues. Poor customer service, refund issues, advertisements, or sales practices also prompt complaints. Often customers complain that it is difficult to cancel the service because it is automatically renewed.

Even if you don’t sign up for a dating service, romance scams via social media and email are quite common. Law enforcement and other agencies receive thousands of complaints each year from people who have lost money through online dating, social media, or email hookups. Criminals posing as potential romantic “partners” may lead their victims for a while, then suddenly pretend they have big medical bills or other urgent money needs. Some criminals are located overseas, making it difficult for authorities to prosecute them or for victims to recover their money. BBB published a detailed report investigative study on these romance scams in 2018, as well as a Follow-up study in 2019 about the potential for victims of romance scams to be used as financial mules.

Consumers should make sure they understand what they are signing up for when using an online dating service. Read all contracts, terms or conditions carefully to understand how you will be charged and what you need to do to cancel. Some consumers have complained that they signed up for a free trial, but their credit cards were charged before they could cancel.

Common complaints about dating services include:

  • Failed to match clients with compatible singles. Complaints included non-smokers matched with smokers; well-educated people paired with less-educated people; religious paired with atheists; or matches who lived too far away or were married.
  • Use of intimidating or deceptive sales tactics: Complainants said they were yelled at, told not to be so picky or completely ignored by the companies involved.
  • Non-delivery: The complainants were told that the service had a database of thousands of singles, but they did not receive the promised number of dates or introductions. Others said a singles club sponsored events to bring singles together, but the events didn’t live up to their billing.
  • Minimum registration period and inability to cancel: Online dating services normally require a minimum membership period and charge a monthly fee. Contracts are often automatically renewed. Either the customer did not take the necessary steps to cancel the account, or the consumer took the necessary steps but the billing still continued.

BBB offers the following advice on online matchmaking and dating services:

  • Don’t fall in love with advertising. Beware of claims such as “an exclusive network of people”, “only for sincere singles”, or “beautiful singles like you”.
  • Don’t give in to high-pressure sales tactics. Sellers may tell you that a low price is only good for that day and ask you to sign a contract immediately. You should read the contract carefully and make sure you understand it.
  • Know how to break. Consumers should not assume that they will stop being billed once the contract expires. Many online dating sites automatically renew memberships. Usually you have to call the company or send written instructions to avoid being charged again. Read the cancellation policies before registering.
  • Beware of requests by a match to send money. Some scams that pair foreign men with foreign women typically include a request to send money to pay for a trip to the United States, using a wire transfer service like MoneyGram or Western Union. The wife never makes the trip and the money cannot be recovered.
  • Do your homework. Ask to speak to other members or customers of the service about their experiences.

Hadi Khouriowner of Central Florida Bonding, says, “Scammers use dating sites, apps, and even social media to convince their victims that they’re in a romantic relationship. The scammer then preys on the victim’s vulnerability and asks for money, personal information, or gift cards. This is becoming more prevalent and people are falling for scams. The Covid-19 pandemic has been extremely difficult for people in the dating world since their way of meeting people was in bars and clubs across Central Florida. With closures and occupancy limits in most places, it’s been incredibly difficult for singles to meet other people, so people are vulnerable to these online scammers.”

According to the Federal Trade Commission, “Romance scams have nearly tripled in the past few years. In 2020 alone, victims lost $304 millionCentral Florida Bonding wants consumers to be aware of romance scams. Khouri explains “I often get asked what a romance scam is. This type of scam involves someone using a fake identity to convince another person that they are in a romantic relationship. The scammer then uses this fake relationship to persuade the victim to part with money or personal information. It can be extremely devastating for victims to find out they’ve been scammed when they really feel like the other person is in love with them.”

Romance scammers make many different claims to persuade their victims to part with money and sensitive information. Here are some examples :

  • The scammers pretend to be far away and therefore cannot meet in person
  • Scammers match their interest profiles with victims
  • Scammers use gory stories such as needing money to pay a medical bill, gambling debt, or family emergency to convince victims to part with their money

Central Florida Bonding offers guidelines on how to stay safe from romance scammers. Here is an example of advice:

  • Take it easy with an online relationship
  • Avoid red flags such as not being able to meet in person or video chat

BBB warns of crypto scams on dating apps https://rencontre-latina.com/bbb-warns-of-crypto-scams-on-dating-apps/ Thu, 10 Feb 2022 08:00:00 +0000 https://rencontre-latina.com/bbb-warns-of-crypto-scams-on-dating-apps/

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and scammers are out to break hearts – and wallets, warns a consumer watchdog group.

The Better Business Bureau is warning consumers to beware of cryptocurrency scams targeting romantic hopes on Tinder and other dating apps. It’s the latest in a bag of tricks that scammers use to scam online users looking for love.

The ruse usually begins with “swiping right” to match an attractive individual on a dating app, according to the BBB. Your “potential partner” speeds up the conversation, but quickly tries to move things offline to a texting app like WeChat or WhatsApp.

Once there, the conversation changes from a small chat to your new friend telling you about one of his relatives who has successfully traded cryptocurrencies. Don’t fall for the trap, warns the BBB.

“This person (allegedly) has insider trading information that could make you rich!” the watchdog group said. “Your new love interest encourages you to take advantage of this ‘exclusive opportunity’. All you have to do is deposit money into a cryptocurrency trading platform. But once you make a deposit, the money is gone forever.

You’ll soon find yourself “ghosted,” experts say, with your potential partner cutting off all communication.

Similar scams have been reported to the BBB, including a trick that tricks victims into laundering money. A crypto scam victim reported BBB ScamTracker lost $1.9 million after hooking up with a woman on Tinder.

“She is very endearing and loving, sending me photos, morning greetings…” the person wrote. “She mentions that a side hobby is teaching her friends how to make extra money. She starts talking about investing in cryptocurrencies.

After some resistance, the victim relented and agreed to “invest $10,100 (using a crypto-trading website), hold the investment for a while, then withdraw $5,000.” This continued for several months, the victim said, only for the scammer to cut off all communication and the crypto-trading site to suddenly shut down.

Romance scam red flags

So what’s the best way to protect yourself against crypto fraud and other romance scams?

The BBB advises consumers against sending money and personal information to someone you have never seen or met in person. Until then, all conversations should stay on the dating app where you first met.

“If a love interest seems to be in a rush to leave the dating app for an insecure chat app, that’s a red flag,” according to the BBB’s website.

It’s also important to do your homework on potential dates, the BBB said, by researching their dating profile and asking specific questions about it.

Tired of dating apps? Try Nielsen Tennis Center Partner Signup The Badger Herald https://rencontre-latina.com/tired-of-dating-apps-try-nielsen-tennis-center-partner-signup-the-badger-herald/ Mon, 31 Jan 2022 19:54:00 +0000 https://rencontre-latina.com/tired-of-dating-apps-try-nielsen-tennis-center-partner-signup-the-badger-herald/

Welcome to the second semester my single friends! If you are here in Madison, I hope you had a wonderful stay. If you immediately went abroad to study abroad, leave.

I know what you thought when you read this headline: Katie, shit, I’m trying to find a date, not a tennis partner!

Well, I’m here to tell you that these two could very well be the same thing. If you don’t play tennis but think you can learn for a chance to find true love, keep reading. If you don’t play tennis and you don’t think you can learn, you’re an idiot because of course you can learn!

For those who don’t know, our school’s tennis stadium has a spreadsheet on their website where people can list their names, skill level and contact details for others to message and play. .

Surprisingly, people haven’t thought of using it for dating. I can’t get the idea – people literally post their names and numbers online with the intention of finding a mate – what else would you use it for?

First, let’s look at the alternative and why it no longer works.

The dating app, designed by and for somewhat horny but mostly lonely people, hit the scene in the late 90s. I’m playing here, but I’m pretty sure it revolutionized dating and does a lot for technology and everything.

The thing is, we had online dating a while ago and despite its average success rate, I think college students are made to break new ground and start fights in pop culture. Basically, to start the fight, try to turn your tennis partner into your perfect match.

While apps like Tinder and Hinge are great for people looking for more casual gratification, the constant surface-level conversations you have with others on these sites will never produce the intense, deep connections that the sweet game of tennis could offer.

Variants of COVID-19 are rising so badly that they are now named after Greek housesAs the Mu variant flies aimlessly over South America en route to the United States, scientists around the world are watching Read…

A fun fact is that the inventor of tennis was named Tom, and according to History he named the value zero in the score “love” because he believed people were meant to find love in tennis. Doesn’t that make you want to cry? I want to vomit just thinking about it.

I believe in this idea more than I have ever believed in anything, so I went out and collected testimonials from students on the UW campus who tried the NPS (Nielsen Partner Signup™) .

Sophomore Julie Hoffman, who just got out of a situation with a Tinder hookup in September, credited NPS with having a great singles network.

“I looked at the list of partners and just texted someone randomly,” Hoffman told the Herald. “Next thing I know, we bond over movies while practicing volleys and now we’re getting married next month.”

WOW! Can you believe that? All that while playing a little tennis? Talk about fate.

Renting a private island to escape COVID-19: Reason #4938429 why we should eat the richWith a let-eat-a-cake-esque moment on Twitter this week, Kim Kardashian reinvigorated the cannibal concept of erasing the well-meaning but annoying 1% off. Read…

Hoffman added that she likes NPS more than other dating apps because the other partner doesn’t know you’re just going there to hang out with her.

“So telling a new single partner you’re looking to date has some predatory undertones, so I went under the radar with this one,” Hoffman said. “It was good that she didn’t know I wanted a girlfriend because it allowed us to form an organic relationship. My last Tinder connection knew I wanted to date and it made me feel vulnerable and open. to attacks.

Senior Jake Bee agreed that tennis provided a great disguise for his romantic motivations.

“I usually suffer from chronic nervous sweating when I go on dates,” Bee shared shamefully. “So being able to talk about our lives without the pressure of a date made me sweat a lot less, which is good.”

And even for the slip-ups where Bee sweats too much, he says he can just blame tennis!

After a fruitless fling with Hinge, senior Alex Perez predicts tennis partner websites are the future of dating.

“Look, I don’t even like tennis. I just love texting new people and meeting them for a magical night of an epic ball,” Perez said.

In conclusion, if you’re tired of the dating app game, I urge you to turn to the underutilized world of recreation center contact lists. There’s even a Facebook group, so honestly, it couldn’t be easier.

If you want a friend, if you want a lover, skip to the Nielsen Tennis Center partner signup – you never know what you might find.

Meet Rocco Rinder!

With TV’s favorite legal eagle Robert Rinder as owner, French bulldog Rocco is ready to go wild

Forgive me, but I’m brief and… well, not so sweet in this column. While I appreciate that National Take Your Dog to Work Day doesn’t take place until June 24, while searching the web I spotted an entry on January 17, #bluemonday, from a man called Gaby Laifer .

Receive The Jewish News Daily Edition by email and never miss our best stories

Mr Laifer was beaming on what is traditionally the most miserable Monday of the year because he took his dog to work.

“Just had the best day of my life taking Belle to work with me today,” Gaby wrote. “All the dogs in my company have been invited to the office.”

Gaby Laifer

From what I understand, Mr. Laifer is in marketing, which is much less rigid than rooms. But on January 17, if I remember correctly, a brisk walk and a pat on the head from the judge was the sum of my day, which left me feeling blue.

Of course, I didn’t bark anything, because I’m not aggressive. I just hope he remembers to cook me a shidduch on February 14, when love is in the dirty air. Someone cute, fluffy, and Jewish. Like Beautiful.

Till next time

Don’t forget your dog!

Rumor has it that Two By Two Veterinary Center in the heart of Finchley is where your dog, cat or hamster could fall in love. Over the past few months, several Siamese have met their eyes through the railings of their cat crates and the bunnies… well, you know how they are.

But animals fall in love without any help from humans, as you’ll find out when watching the documentary Animals in Love, better known by its more racy French title, Les Animaux Amoureux. Directed by Laurent Charbonnier, it is an incredible visual exploration of how animals of all kinds experience love and intimacy in their natural environment. Available on YouTube, the music is by Philip Glass, who is considered one of the most influential composers of the late 20th century — and he’s Jewish.

Blackhawks hope Drew Commeso was named to the 2022 United States Men’s Olympic Ice Hockey Team, one of three goaltenders going to the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing for the Americans.

With the announcement by the NHL and the AJLNH at the end of December that NHL players won’t make it to this year’s Winter Olympics, Team USA focused on minor league, college and international ranks to fill out its roster for the Beijing games. Commesso, a 2020 second-round pick (46th overall) who started the only game for the United States at the 2022 World Junior Championship before the tournament was canceled, was the first choice in net for United States general manager John Vanbiesbrouck and head coach David Quinn.

Drew is developing into a great young goaltender and playing for the Olympics will only help him. We wish him good luck in Beijing.”

Commesso is in his second season at Boston University. He played 30 games with the Terriers in his first two seasons, posting a 14-10-4 record. The outspoken politician, 50, admitted she had been ‘single for so long’ on the Today show on Friday while discussing a viral report about a Chinese woman who got stuck at her blind date for a week during an instant lockout.

The woman at the center of the story reportedly said her date was ‘as dumb as a model’ but acknowledged he cooked for her and did household chores – prompting Ms Lambie to describe him like the perfect man.

The mother-of-two, who has been single for 18 years, made the admission during a current affairs segment with reporter Van Badham and newsreader Alex Cullen.

Cullen then asked Lambie what his “perfect blind date” would be.

She replied: ‘Well, I can’t have a normal date, so maybe I need a blind date. That’s what I need. They always scare me, man.

“That’s why I’ve been single for so long.”

Lambie has often spoken about her single status and once told Sunday Night that she had “turned off” the romantic side of her life after being single for so long.

She described her ideal man as “a good Australian guy who can handle himself” and indicated that she would be willing to date a “tradie with calluses on his hands”.

When Australian politics was rocked by sex scandals in 2018, the former soldier joked on KIIS FM that she was probably the only politician not to be sexually active.

The woman at the center of the story reportedly said her date was ‘as dumb as a model’ but admitted he cooked for her and did household chores, prompting Ms Lambie to describe him as the perfect man.

“I’m so annoyed I must be the only one who can’t mess things up, go ahead,” she said.

In 2014, she memorably said that her “perfect man” didn’t even “need to talk”, but “must have a lot of money and they must have a bundle between their legs”.

She later apologized for the comments.

It comes after a Chinese woman revealed she was stuck in her blind date’s house for a week after the city was plunged into a Covid-19 lockdown.

The woman, identified by her surname Wang, was dining at her blind date’s house when parts of China’s central city of Zhengzhou were abruptly placed on lockdown last Wednesday.

Posting a video on Chinese social media platform WeChat last week, it seemed love hadn’t blossomed between the two, as Wang described him as “dumb as a wooden dummy.” according to local media.

Wang told Shanghai-based newspaper The Paper that she traveled to Zhengzhou for a week-long trip to meet potential suitors when the city was thrown into a Covid-19 lockdown.

She said, “Right after I arrived in Zhengzhou, there was an epidemic and its community was quarantined and I couldn’t leave.”

Wang said her family introduced her to “ten games” and the fifth blind date wanted to “show off her cooking skills,” so invited her to his home for dinner, where they were immersed in unexpectedly in isolation.

Since then, Wang has shared videos documenting her daily life locked down with her date, who cooked her meals, which she called “mediocre”.

According to clips released by local media, his blind date, whose identity is not known, also did chores and worked on her laptop as she sleeps during lockdown.

It appears romance is not on the table for the couple, as Wang said she was looking for a more talkative partner, describing him as “dumb as a wooden dummy.”

“Besides him being as mute as a wooden dummy, everything else (about him) is pretty good,” she told The Paper.

“Although his food is mediocre, he is always ready to cook, which I think is great.”

Her short videos quickly went viral on Chinese social media sites, but Wang said their growing popularity prompted her to delete the videos “for now”.

“Friends called him and I think it definitely affected his life, so I took them down for now,” she said in a video posted on Tuesday and widely reposted to local Chinese media.

“Thank you all for your attention… I hope the epidemic will end soon and my single sisters will also find a relationship soon.”

It’s still unclear if she’s still stuck in her date’s house.

Over 100 Covids cases have been reported in Zhengzhou since last week, as China battles to contain several local outbreaks of the Delta and Omicron variants.

Several cities in the central province of Henan, located near Xi’an, have tightened virus checks in response to hundreds of new infections since late December.

The provincial capital Zhengzhou imposed a partial lockdown, which saw schools closed and non-essential businesses closed.

Large-scale testing campaigns have also been rolled out to test the city’s nearly 13 million residents for any “silent” Covid-19 carriers.

Henan reported 87 new local cases on Wednesday, and it’s unclear how many of them are Omicron cases.

Chinese authorities are on high alert for Covid outbreaks in major cities, as the Beijing Winter Olympics are just weeks away.

There are now a total of 20 million people confined to their homes in China after the cities of Anyang and Yuzhou joined Xi’an’s 13 million under quarantine and banned from leaving their homes even to buy food.

The emergence of the fast-spreading Omicron variant is another test of China’s zero Covid strategy, with authorities already battling multiple outbreaks.

The lockdowns are the most extensive since the shutdown of Wuhan and most of the rest of Hubei province in early 2020 at the start of the pandemic.

While the total number of reported cases in China is far lower than other virus hotspots such as the United States and Europe, the impact of Omicron is causing widespread concern.

Prior to the last cluster, China had reported only a handful of Omicron cases, all linked to imported infections.

Authorities are particularly wary of major outbreaks ahead of the Winter Olympics, which Beijing will host from Feb. 4-20.

A Beijing Olympics official responsible for disease control, Huang Chun, said organizers were counting on the cooperation of athletes and officials to prevent an outbreak that could affect participation.

“If mass cluster transmission occurs, it will definitely impact the Games and the schedule,” Huang said.

“The worst-case scenario, if it occurs, is beyond human control, so we leave our options open.”

The global event will coincide with the busy Lunar New Year holiday, during which millions of people travel across the country.

]]> Swipe Vax: Dating apps are the new vaccination battleground https://rencontre-latina.com/swipe-vax-dating-apps-are-the-new-vaccination-battleground/ Tue, 11 Jan 2022 08:00:00 +0000 https://rencontre-latina.com/swipe-vax-dating-apps-are-the-new-vaccination-battleground/

People typically turn to dating apps to try love, but a new Swiss-German platform hopes to connect those who refuse to get a COVID-19 shot and are frustrated by European passes that limit activities (including a romantic dinner) for the non-bitters.

The app, called “Impffrei: Love” (“Love without the vaccine”), is said to have registered some 10,000 unvaccinated users between the ages of 20 and 50, who claim to be sick (not literally) from the impact of the pandemic on their personal freedom, reports Berlin magazine Cicero.

Of course, the terms and conditions of the app include a disclaimer that Impffrei:Love assumes no responsibility if you receive COVID from a date. The app may seem like a publicity stunt or just the latest sign of the company’s deep division on the issue.

Love can conquer all, can’t it? Well, when it comes to vaccines, the personal has clearly become political. For some, vaccination status is enough to swipe right or left because it says a lot about someone’s social and political beliefs.

Show your jab status

As vaccination debates unfold in various media, there is a particular twist when it comes to online dating. This algorithm-based form of matchmaking has gained popularity in a time when people cannot meet in person. The apps allow singles to screen potential partners to ensure they are worth the risk of meeting in person. Immunization status has become a key part of a person’s dating profile the same way they can list their interests, education, and what they are looking for in a partner.

On that note, US-based dating apps like Tinder and Bumble now allow users to indicate whether they’ve been vaccinated. In the United States, the initiative was actually launched by the White House with the aim of protecting more people from COVID-19, especially young people with lower vaccination rates.

The UK government has also launched a similar program with vaccine stickers to share vaccination status. More creatively, dating app BLK, which caters to the black community, collaborated with rappers Juvenile, Mannie Fresh and Mia X to release a vaccination anthem called “Vax That Thang Up.”

A larger conversation about health and mating

On a positive note, being open about vaccination is part of a larger discussion about the role dating apps play in disclosing health statuses and removing stigma around sexually transmitted infections. Many apps aimed at the LGBTQ+ community, such as Grindr, are leading the way in allowing users to feel comfortable sharing their testing practices and providing public health information, while also being an outlet for contact tracing.

It has become much more normal in the queer world to share this information.

As Jen Hecht, Senior Director of Building Healthy Online Communities said The conversation“One of the main factors is that you have generations of gay people who lived through the AIDS crisis. It took its toll, but it also became part of their identity. It became much more normal in the queer world to share this information.

Two years into the pandemic, there is still no end in sight. It’s clear that COVID-19 will have lasting effects, on everything from how we work to how we travel, to how – and with whom – we hang out. And my friend.
