His deceptions and lies become dangerous. (10 minutes, but Grassley in the first minute)
This recent video showing Grassley asking (?) (implying) that since the IRS finally got some operating money, he (the IRS) is going to turn into a government sponsored terrorist group. Only a totally out of touch fool would make such a statement. Only a bigger fool would believe such a statement.
Which tells you what Chuck Grassley thinks of Iowa voters. Grassley knows what he said was a lie – A BIG LIE! Maybe not as big a lie as his hero’s BIG LIE, but a BIG LIE all the same. Grassley’s spreading such lies tells us that he believes the people of Iowa are fools and that he can get away with spreading such lies without much consequence.
As you can see, this is another BIG LIE spread by the radical right-wing Republican Party. There’s no lie bad enough these days that these radicals aren’t spreading in an effort to hold power and gain more power. Grassley isn’t just showing his disdain for Iowa voters, he’s also showing he’s 100% on Party before Country.
It’s not like Grassley is new to lying. Remember the lies about the ACA “pulling the plug on grandma’s health care”? Well, that was Uncle Chuckles from 13 years ago. He was then shilling for health care for the money lobby, not to mention the radical Republican Party of the time. Pure lie. Pure Grassley:
Sen. Chuck Grassley, a Republican from Iowa, said at a town hall meeting today that Americans “have every right to fear” the government’s health care reform efforts, which he says , would lead the government to decide when to “unplug” older Americans.
“In the House bill, there is end-of-life advice,” Grassley told a crowd of about 300, according to the Iowa Independent. “You have every right to be afraid. You shouldn’t have end-of-life counseling, you should have had it 20 years ago. There shouldn’t be a government plan for deciding when to unplug grandma.
Thirteen years later and Grassley continues his lies. Just weeks ago, Grassley voted against the $35 cap on insulin, then tweeted almost immediately that he voted for it despite the video of the vote clearly showing him voting against that bill. He thinks we are stupid. He always runs with this lie.
In this case, this lie may well have consequences in violent terms. People who believe these lies and have easy access to guns (thanks in large part to Grassley) may feel a kind of arrogant duty to shoot tax clerks based on lies like the ones Grassley peddles. We have the recent attacks on FBI employees as a relevant example.
“The Internal Revenue Service is always use technology and procedures 1970s to process tax returns. It had a backlog of 10.2 million unprocessed returns in July, largely because millions of people still use paper returns and lack the technology to scan them quickly. IRS employees must manually enter information from paper returns, one number at a time.
They use such outdated equipment that they have to manufacture their own spare parts because the company that supplied the originals has long been bankrupt. The newest technology they work with, at least in a processing facility, is a PC running Windows XP, dating back to 2001. A third of their staff are eligible for retirement, and they’ve lost 20% of their workforce since then. 2010. .
That’s why the IRS needs the $80 billion from the Cut Inflation Act signed into law by President Joe Biden this week, so he can enter the 21st century. By the way, this is a benefit for ordinary Americans and especially low-income people who are more likely to file free paper returns and are more likely to rely on their timely refunds.
Simply put, the IRS needs its allocated money to update its process. Fraudsters – mainly the wealthy – avoid billions in taxes each year that the IRS is currently unable to track due to their current status. I think any rational voter would see that this needs to be fixed so that all of us pay our fair share. It is a matter of fairness for all taxpayers.
So this is it. Grassley lies again. Grassley is doing what he can to incite violence against federal employees based on this lie. He has plausible deniability in that he can claim he did not directly call for violence. Yet we know what a dangerous game he and his party are playing.
His lies are BIG LIES, but barely covered by the Iowa press for two reasons. The first is that Grassley’s BIG LIES are big in reality but tiny in comparison to the lies and corruption of the previous president. There is hardly time for the little ones when we unravel perhaps the greatest crime in American history, perhaps one of the greatest crimes of the historical period.
The other reason is that the Iowa press shows deference to Grassley after all these years.
Opposing Grassley is a man of honor who has staked his career on honesty and integrity. Admiral Michael Franken made his bones with integrity. The people of Iowa are tired of the flame-movie they now have as a senator. I’m tired of Grassley’s duplicity. Count me in solidly for Mike Franken and honesty!
