Danica Patrick gets brutally honest about her love life

Danica Patrick is the most successful woman to ever compete in open wheel racing.

His place in sporting lore is set in stone at this point, and his reputation as a truly transformative figure is beyond reproach.

Although Patrick ultimately failed to rack up the victories that some deem necessary to legitimately define her racing career, she was still extremely efficient when it came to her craft.

Unfortunately, when it comes to his personal life, Patrick was never able to achieve the same level of success. Last week, she got brutally honest about her love life and still being single at 40.

“It’s cool,” Patrick said recently in an interview with Fox News. “I think being 40 and being single…I had a great relationship for a year that ended in January, the beginning of the year.

“Kind of going into my next decade on my own, it was like, wow, OK. This kiddie boat might be sailing. I don’t have any plans for my birthday right now because I’m now suddenly only.

That said, Patrick acknowledged that it was a complex situation filled with a lot of different feelings.

“There were kind of these feelings of sadness,” she admitted.

“But I also like being able to be spontaneous and hang out with my girlfriends and go on trips. My life these days is like a puzzle that I put together [with] work trips and play trips. So I will focus on that. And when the right guy comes along, I’ll know.

Patrick remains an incredibly popular figure in the sports world, despite having retired quite a long time ago.

Whether it’s her provocative outfits or her racy “red party” photos, she always seems to go viral for one reason or another.

And then, of course, Patrick’s love life is a mainstay in the news cycle. Between his latest made public heartbreak, his brutal take on ex-boyfriend Aaron Rodgers’ split from actress Shailene Woodley, and then his weird reaction to Rodgers allegedly dating a witch now, it’s one thing after another with her.

If the past is any prologue, this probably isn’t the last time Patrick will have to address his singleness and/or relationship status in an interview.

Will she finally find love at some point in the foreseeable future?
