Cyberpunk 2077 fans may be patiently waiting for current-gen updates, especially those who intentionally skipped the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game. Rumors are swirling that the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S patch for the action RPG is coming soon. But in the meantime, perhaps a dating game set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe could tide players over.
Cyberbang 2069 (yes, you read that right) is a dating game with a lot of sauce, and it comes in SFW and NSFW flavors. Created by a small team known as Triple Thirst, the female-led developers conjured up a visual novel. TheGamer downloaded Cyberbang 2069 in the name of research and gave it a whirl, clicking through various dialogue options as we tried to earn the admiration and affection of the ninja Arasaka Sandayu Oda.
Cyberbang 2069 has also been sanctioned by CDPR, with the Polish studio giving the project its blessing of sorts. The game description reads: “A FREE, UNOFFICIAL fan project made with the express permission of, and not endorsed by, CD Projekt Red.” Triple Thirst clearly asked for the developer’s consent in order not to be arrested. And the members of the CDPR team seem totally into the fan-made project:
Cyberbang 2069 is a visual novel at heart and therefore relies heavily on text. But the music and audio featured in the game is a real vibe, while there are definitely some sexy parts. Cyberbang also allows male or female V to have many more male romance options than the official game it’s based on, and further develops the characters and their relationship dynamics.
Currently, fans can play through Cyberbang 2069 and four different demos focusing on Sandayu Oda, Goro Takemura, Johnny Silverhand, or Viktor Vektor. The visual novel has a file size of less than one gigabyte and is available for Mac or Windows users either for free or players can leave a contribution to Triple Thirst’s efforts.
Some gamers are impressed with the fan-made game. An opinion bed: “I was expecting a short nsfw game but got a very well thought out and executed ‘questline’ that could easily rival those in C77. Just spent about 4 hours with Oda and I’m really impressed . I can’t wait to see what’s next.”
