Four months after his unexpected retirement from tennis, Ashley Barty married her fiancé Garry Kissik at a small-scale wedding in Queensland, Australia.
The three-time Grand Slam champion shared this personal milestone on Instagram, posting a photo from her wedding day with the caption “husband and wife.” Only family and closest friends attended the ceremony, including tennis players Pat Rafter, Casey Dellacqua and Alicia Molik.
The couple started dating in 2016, after met at Brookwater Golf Club where Kissick works as a professional intern. They got engaged in November 2021.
Although Kissick was unfamiliar with tennis to begin with, he quickly understood how life on the WTA Tour works and was a great support to Barty as she Told vogue in a recent interview: “He’s kind of been immersed in the very deep understanding of what touring is and how apart we are, but he’s the best person to have in the sense of breaking away from tennis and to be able to bring pleasure and laughter.
